This is the first of a series of updates on my current build. I want to discuss some of the parts we use in our community and the challenges faced. I have no skin in the game and do not profit off of any of it. These are my experiences and your mileage may vary. I will also add, I’m very particular and want things done right. It annoys me when they aren’t.

It was May 24th. I had my empty trailer hooked up to my truck ready to travel from San Diego to Toronto to pick up my car. It had been nearly 3 years since I’d had a chance to drive my car and enjoy it and now was when I had booked to get it.
I’m a big believer in using some supplements in your fitness career. I don’t think you need to go crazy, but you need some additional boost to help with your recovery and growth. Protein powder is one of the best supplements to use. I like using several different types.
Isopure Infusions protein powder is one of my favorites to use in the summertime. I mix it up in the morning and put it in the refrigerator to be ready for when I come home from the gym. It’s been hot and this is a very low-calorie high protein refresher. Protein Shake
Food is the best way to get your nutrients but there are times when it's good to get a protein drink in. In addition you can get a good amount of nutrients from a drink if its done right and can make your own weight gainer without all the additives the traditional weight gainers come with. Let's get into it.
Big Hybrid Turbos
Welcome to Turbo Tuesday and part 3 of the story. We left off yesterday with the new turbo making a little more than the Pure700 with no doubt that there was more left in it. The tune hadn’t been updated. Now was time for a new turbo specific tune to take advantage of the improved airflow and a built engine.

This process of the last nearly three years has had its ups and downs. As with any big build, challenges occur and then you work through them. It would have been better if I had sat down and thought about what I really wanted with my build prior to starting. I first started with only wanting a tune but it has rapidly progressed from that to a full-on, all-out build.

I’ve now gone through an entire build on my car. I’ve learned a lot along the way and in fact I’ve been reminded somewhat on how things took place on my Myers Manx my dad and I built. I’ll do a post about that sometime soon as it had a lasting impact on my life. These lessons that took place over both builds will always last in my mind and never be forgotten. Hopefully some of the lessons I’ve learned can help you in your builds.

Flashback Friday to the first time you ever took your car out on a track day. How did it feel? Let me share with you my experience.
Wheel Wednesday
I got my Litespeed Racing wheels last April. I have had a lot of fun with them. They weigh 14.4 pounds per corner for the 9"x19" wheel and so really dominate in the unsprung weight department. Unsprung weight is always best to eliminate if at all possible. It allows for quicker transitions and is more responsive to any inputs steering or otherwise.

Everyone has their issues they need to work through when doing a big build. A simple tune is a completely different experience than a full build. I’ve talked about my build before and discussed a lot of the positives. More positives than negatives have resulted from my build and I’ll talk about more of them in future posts. |
