As a fit athlete I get asked often if I’m willing to join various MLM companies, be part of their team. They look at me as someone who can market for them and as all MLM’s work, the more specialists in their pyramid the more money they can make.
There are two main ways to make money in an MLM, by selling products, or by adding more people to your own pyramid. The biggest MLM companies we see advertised on social media are Herbalife, It Works, Beachbody, and Isagenix. While these companies might make great products there are reasons why I don’t join.
The MLM Company’s products might be excellent but guaranteed that there is a similar product available which isn’t part of an MLM. The seller of the MLM will state this is the best product created in the last 20 years, it is the best thing on the market, It Works, it’s got this special ingredient, etc. That is all only partly true. Products are formulated using similar techniques and various ingredients available to all. It just takes some time to find a product which contains the same ingredients or formulas the MLM does. 
It is overpriced to be able to pay commissions. Upon examination of a supplement which is comparable to the MLM product, the non-MLM product will always be cheaper. Cheaper doesn’t mean it’s any less effective or pure. It has an added price built into it to pay all the commissions of the pyramid which the seller is part of.
I would be competing against others which recruited me into the pyramid of the MLM. While competition is healthy and invigorating, this sort of competition with your friends or family (most likely the person who recruited you) is not always the best way to maintain a good relationship. This is especially true when the real people who are making the big money are the ones at the top of the pyramid. The market becomes saturated with a particular product. For instance Beachbody is everywhere and can be found online, it has been pirated and spread illegally and many people sell it. I would not want to sell something where my market has already been saturated by other avenues. I'm limited to selling one name brand of product. What if I find something I like better, that works better and contains better ingredients? Well I don't have the option to change or give people better feedback unlike if I use Amazon for my choices. I can then do my research and find the best possible healthy product and use that as well as recommended it to my clients with no conflicts. Finally, being part of one company also limits me in my use of that particular brand of pre-workout or protein. I like to use many various pre-workout mixes, or types of protein or amino acids for added results. Your body becomes accustomed to one type after a while and it is no longer as effective, so I like to change it to be more effective as well as not becoming bored with the product. Instead of joining an MLM to find your products and spending money which doesn’t need to be spent to make a couple of extra dollars, why not go to Amazon to find what you need. Amazon Prime ensures speedy delivery and the prices are nearly always less expensive than that found in local stores. In addition you can find nearly everything you are looking for. They have reviews on products, you can look up the information about the ingredients; it is all available for your research in one place. There are other great products that are out there, these are the products I've found. I will add to this list as time goes on with additional new products I find. These will always be the best products I can find, the healthiest with the least amount of additives. This Amazon Prime list includes gym equipment as well.
